Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
I work closely alongside clients, solving their business problems, on IBM Consulting projects. This has given me a breadth of experience from business analyst work to communications content. I also work internally to manage my industries spend budget and report on opportunities the industry has in the pipeline across EMEA.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
I was surprised by how much responsibility I was given. I thoroughly enjoyed being treated like every other employee in the company and not like a placement student.

Support and Guidance
How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
The culture at IBM is very supportive. Everybody I encountered would always have time to help guide me and support the work I was doing. I was shocked by how much time everyone, including senior staff members, would take out of their days to support me in my work and shape my future development.

Company Culture
What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
The IBM culture is amazing. Everybody is extremely nice and willing to always be there for support. The atmosphere has made IBM a great place to work and a place I hope to work in the future. I have also made friends for life at IBM and enjoy that the company puts events on to meet others in a more relaxed setting, outside of work.

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
I loved my placement .. so much so I applied to come back. The work is challenging don't get me wrong but that makes it even more rewarding. Anybody thinking about a placement at IBM should definitely consider it!!

Be yourself in the interview and remember the company should suit you just as much as you should suit it. And if you don't get the job, ask for feedback and learn from that next time.
