Serving customers and patients regarding sales, referrals and medical treatments. Taking time to write up my learning. Putting through payments on tills and dispensing optical equipment.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I am very happy with my apprenticeship program. It is adaptable to my needs as well as the stores. The work load is good for the content and timeframe that it is set.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

All of my skills learnt through this apprenticeship are new as I had no prior optics experience. I have developed my customer service skills when dealing with different types of people.

How well organised/structured is your programme?

Very well organised with access to flexibility. The team are very supportive and talk through each step.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

They are very supportive and understanding with my apprenticeship, work, and home life. I feel appreciated and supported in every aspect

A lot of support is given. They are very good at helping me understand my goals and what I would like to achieve in the future.

Without my support through my apprenticeship, I would not have any of the skills I have worked on this year. I am able to do my job with complete confidence in my abilities.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

We have had some social events during the summer like game nights and eating out - especially for the christmas meal.

Why?
They are incredibly supportive and understanding in every aspect of life. They aim to train you up to the best of your ability but also know when you need a break. Although it is fast paced - the reward is so encouraging knowing you’re helping people every day.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Specsavers?
Know that it can be a fast paced environment but that you can take a break and a lot of directors and managers are very understanding
