Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

- Carrying out assessments under the Care Act 2014
- Signposting to community resources.
- Arranging services to meet eligible needs (to include home care, residential care, and direct payments).
- Making preliminary safeguarding enquiries, ensure interim safety plans are in place and completing safeguarding planning discussions.
- Completing CHC checklists and supporting with DST meetings.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I loved the workshops and the topics covered, being able to engage with colleagues in my cohort has made the learning experience much better. I have access to my supervisor who is always available and happy to help.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Yes, the course has helped me grow in confidence, being able to take on complex work and it has highlighted the importance of MCA when it comes to safeguarding adults and the importance of not confusing executive dysfunction and MCA.

The training has allowed me to take on more complex cases and to be able to apply for further training in the career I want to do.
