Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
This is an enforcement role supporting local businesses to comply with consumer protection legislation and regulatory standards. We protect the public/ local consumers by ensuring Norfolk has a safe, fair and legal marketplace.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I love how varied the course is and how much support we receive to put the theory into practice during our day to day work experience.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Yes I have learnt how to interpret and analyse intelligence. I have learnt the effectiveness of risk management, developed skills in evidence gathering and investigatory work as well as an understanding of regulation and legislation.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
I believe we could benefit from the module workshops being split out more as we cover a lot of learning in an intense timeframe which can be difficult to retain. Some modules could be reordered to achieve a better learning flow. The structure of the overall course however is clear and easy to follow.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
Lots! We get to carry out work experience that underpins the theory taught during the apprenticeship. This solidifies learning. We have a training coordinator who arranges extra workshops and revision sessions if any areas need further training.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
Lots! We have had multiple workshops.
I feel very supported with monthly 1-2-1s with a CSA tutor.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
The training has helped me learn new skills and develop existing knowledge making me more confident within my role.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
I arrange wellbeing walks and we have quarterly social events. There is a yearly conference that allows us to network with other trading standards teams.
