Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
As Strategic Sales Analyst, I work with the Strategic Sales Leader to ensure that IBM is effectively positioned to pursue and win Large Deals. I take detailed notes in Daily Deal Review meetings with Client Partners, follow up on requests for help made and prompt Client Teams to submit Sales Close Plans. Through the information gathered in the Deal Review sessions, we also submit regular informed projections to senior regional and global stakeholders.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
I worked with various members of the UKI and EMEA Leadership team, so yes, I was given a tremendous amount of responsibility.

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
I have greatly improved in Excel and PowerPoint, learning how to use pivot tables and present complex information in a visually appealing manner. My public speaking, time management, communication, listening and interpersonal skills have also gotten tremendously better.

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
I had two managers- one who looked after my general wellbeing and development, and another that I reported directly to. In general, everyone was very approachable and there was a lot of emphasis put on mental health.
