Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Currently my day to day includes learning skills at college to develop my trade skills this includes working on machinery, hand fitting skills and learning about different procedures etc.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I have enjoyed the programme so far due to some of the potential opportunities such as the stem ambassador programme which allows the apprentices to develop speaking skills by talking through stem projects to kids. The outward bound programme was also a good to get out of the comfort zone.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have developed my skills of milling, use of lathes, my hand fitting techniques to improve the quality of my work. I have also developed my skills of writing a report to explain the process of creating my work pieces

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
The programme is well structured as you do the induction for the first week and are split into tables of your course for this, this means you learn about the people you will spend the next 3-4 years with but also the structure remains throughout as for outward bound you stay with your team and all throughout college.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
The employer gives plenty of support to those who need it, if you need support you just need to ask for it and then you will receive it.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
The training providers support you whenever you ask for it or need it, if you ask then they will put in place for you to get the support you need.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
I believe that doing the qualification aids me by improving my knowledge on different parts of my trade rather than focusing completely on one section of the work I will be carrying out in the future.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
There is a stem ambassador programme to allow people to develop social skills and knowledge as well as outward bound to get you out of your comfort zone and work as a team with other apprentices
