Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I am a software engineer mainly focussing on DevOps and AI. I am working with a team that is focussed on innovation and asset based consulting. Day to day I am working on tickets that range from infrastructure to front end. I have also had the opportunity to work in other areas of the business outside of my developer role.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

Over the past two years I have found the programme to be really enjoyable. I am able to balance my work and apprenticeship work easily and have access to a wide range of support.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Since joining I have been given the opportunity to develop a wide range of skills as a developer. I have been given a lot of support and guidance that has helped me to become confident in my role.

How well organised/structured is your programme?

The programme is well structured making it easy to balance the workload between uni and work.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

Over the past two years I have received a lot of support that has helped me to be confident and successful within my role.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

Although I have not needed much support from my training provider so far, I know that it is available and who I can contact. We have regular meetings to make sure we are progressing with UNI work and apprenticeship work.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

My qualification has helped me to gain knowledge and skills and insight in areas that are directly and indirectly related to my work. This has helped me to gain a broader understanding and skillset which has helped me to perform well in various roles around the business.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There are many opportunities for activities outside of work. There is a strong culture for this especially amongst teams and practices.
