System programmer on z/OS. Maintaining & managing z systems for IBM development. Working with CICS, MQ, IMS, DB2 etc
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

Very much so. Constantly learning new things everyday with a great network of support around me.

Yes I have learnt countless new skills on z/OS, z/VM and software development in general.

How well organised/structured is your programme?

Very well organised. Have a 'University Day' on Monday where I attend lectures, work on assignments etc.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive a lot of support from my employer. From my colleagues, general team, more experiences colleagues and managers.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

Support from University of Exeter is great. Easy access to message lecturers as well as mentors who help guide me.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

My role is slightly different to what I learn from my University course. However the skills I learn are very important in the industry and will be immesnely helpful for my future in an IT company.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There is a good amount of extra-curricular activities available at my office. There activities range from running clubs and 5-a-side football to professional networking events.

Why?
Good company that's going in the right direction in a thriving industry. Plenty of opportunites in different locations. With a great support network in place. It is a great place for young professionals to begin their career.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to IBM?
Understand IBM, it's core values and the purpose/direction fo the company. Be confident and a good active listener. Present yourself in the best possible manner.
