Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
The main part of my role is to support the global business in drafting, reviewing, negotiating and advising on all contracts entered into for goods not for resale (i.e. things we need but won't sell to customers)
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I do enjoy the programme, but it is incredibly hard. Trying to fit in a level 7 training programme alongside working full time, and being a father and husband, is incredibly difficult.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have developed a lot of my existing skills, and also been able to develop new ones, especially by working in other legal teams to get a much broader experience of being a lawyer.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
It is very organised and structured
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I literally get all the support I could ever ask for from my employer
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
The coaching element is very good, but the course is very much focused on self-study and using the online and print resources provided.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
It absolutely does. It has given me insight to be able to see the nuances in certain decisions and situations that I couldnt have been able to see before
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Yes, there are often networking events to attend both in and out of hours if wanted, and Specsavers is very supportive of social events both in and out of work time

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Specsavers to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I love it here. I love the fact that we do such an important job for our customers, and I love the fact that we do it all over the world. Specsavers as a business takes extremely good care of its employees. Where else would they invest thousands of pounds in a guy thats almost 50 to have such a career change!
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Specsavers?
Go for it. Give it your all and you wont regret it - it will be your last job because you wont want to leave!
