Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I work on a public sector client project, working as a developer alongside my team to complete tickets of work including new features and improvements, bug fixes. I participate in meetings related to this, for example wider architecture or design discussions.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I generally enjoy the programme; it's a great way to get into the industry but the university side feels too disconnected from the workplace.

Yes, I'm nearly always learning new things through on-the-job experience.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

The programme is generally well structured, but the progress tracking and management processes on the university side make it extremely difficult to track progress agains the required KSBs.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

There is support available if I have any issues, and we have lots of learning resources available.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I have support from my university skills coach, and have review meetings between them and my manager at work.

University content is disconnected and lags behind my job role even when relevant, so I usually learn new things through direct experience in my role first.

Why?
IBM has a really supportive atmosphere; everyone I have ever met, no matter how senior, is happy to chat with you and wants you to succeed, and there are plenty of opportunities for you to develop within the company.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to IBM?
Be yourself! IBM isn’t specifically looking for experience with this apprenticeship, but more your attitude and willingness to learn, grow, and become part of the IBM culture/community.
