Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Transition Manager - i manage the project transition of large deliverables, reporting to senior internal stakeholders and client stakeholders. Primary responsibilities on a day-to-day involve risk management and mitigation, stakeholder management, planning & scheduling, and progress tracking .
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
Completed my level 4 apprenticeship in November. I am now completing an Associate Chartered Management Consultant status - this qualification has been trickier so far and much less clear how to go about beginning.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
Yes - several new skills as a result of working in a high pressure environment. Existing skills have been further developed due to client-facing role

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
2/5
Structure is lacking - the programme comprises a set of 'advised' learning courses, and then an application. The application is self-explanatory, however the 'advised' learning is largely stuff that I already know and would not be a productive use of my time
How much support do you receive from your employer?
3/5
I can contact my manager when I want to - we also have monthly check-ins. I rely on support from other colleagues who are ahead of me in the qualification more so
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
JMC - really good
Associate Chartered - support could be greater, especially at the start
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
my JMC qualification really helped me better perform in my job role because it helped directly develop my core consulting skills.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
I am involved in the apprentice community wellbeing team - I am a team lead. Alongside this, I frequently play football with people on my project and attend networking events as and when possible

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend IBM to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Good opportunities to grow throughout your career here. I think that it is easy to see your progression, however it can sometimes be too linear - for example, not being able to go for promotions due to length of time you have been working, rather than work performance.
