Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
3/5
I have worked as part of a team, working together to test a full system through a variety of different testing techniques. On a day-to-day basis, I will be a part of team meetings, work with a great team and script, execute and report different tests
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
Really good, learnt so many new topics that I'm hoping to apply in my day to day working.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Yes, I have improved time management skills, working agility skills, innovation skills, communication and team working skills.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
Very structured, I know exactly what I need to be working on for the week, when assignments are due and when I have exams as well.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I receive a lot of support. This could be through catch up calls, F2F meetings or just general chatting.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I receive the expected amount. I have meetings with them every so often, where I explain what courses I've completed, what I've learnt from them, we cover a different british value every meeting, and then we discuss what I need to work on after.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
It helps a lot through the use of reflection summaries which is when I can explain how I've used what I've learnt in the university course, in the workplace.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
It's been difficult, due to covid at the start but one thing I can say for certain is whichever office you work at, there will always be extra-curricular activities that you can get involved in outside of work.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend IBM to a friend?
Yes
Why?
It's changed my life, Improved me as a person, has introduced me to so many lovely people and overall, is an inclusive environment which makes me want to go to work.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to IBM?
IBM looks for the person most suited to the role, not just the person with the highest grades, so If you put yourself out there and show what you can do and they feel that you are the most suited person to the role, then you will get the role.
