Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
My role as part of the equity and inclusion team does not really encapsulate one single thing. Some of my objectives include: progress tracking, budget tracking, internal communication of diversity events, dealing with new suppliers, learning BSL.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
I do enjoy my programme most of the time. Sometimes if my boss is not in, I feel a bit lonely and occasionally when my only task is social media writing, I struggle to feel motivated. It is a job at the end of the day.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have learnt some new skills. I have begun to learn BSL. I have also broadened my knowledge on budgeting and using different computer applications.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
The structure and organisation of my programme is great. There is a clear and accessible chain of command and the way that the org functions seems to reflect that pretty well.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
My employer is extremely supportive. This first month has been really difficult because of personal issues and my boss and the other workplace support schemes have been a huge help through these difficult times.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
Good support from the training provider. Bi-weekly meetups. She goes into huge amounts of detail and always responds promptly.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
Somewhat. Its only early days at the moment, but I do think that moving forwards it can be a huge help.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
Yes, lots. The apprentices often get together to do things. Lots of our employee resource groups arrange events on the regular.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Channel 4 to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Because its a great opportunity to learn and make some decent money with a massively respectable company. Why wouldn't you want to work in a clean, new and professional environment every single day.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Channel 4?
Be authentic. That's what I did and it worked. I applied for 2 roles and the one that I felt was way more rigid didn't go as well.
