Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
Daily stand up with my manager, daily interactions with other BTS interns, managing BTS Communications, preparing BTS newsletter, creating weekly sales deck, preparing for upcoming meetings.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
Yes. I managed multiple large scale projects that had a large positive effect for the 1500 practitioners sitting within BTS.

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
Communications (indesign, slack bot builder, notes), I have absolutely further developed my presentation skills, verbal communication skills and excel skills.

Support and Guidance
How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
It very much depended on the person, in the beginning of my internship I had a really supportive manager who gave me lots of guidance and encouragement, part way through my task manager changed and I didn't get as my support, they were less interested in my career journey. I also had a foundation manager, I personally would not say she was very supportive, if I ever wanted anything it would always come from me, she never reached out to check in, we could easily go months without speaking...

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
Wonderful! I really love IBM which is why I am coming back as a degree apprentice in September. Everyone is so open to helping and if you ask for anything they're always open to helping you.
