Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Reviewing and accessing damaged vehicles
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
2/5
I didn't it was very much basic information I already knew, the process was drawn out when, Thatcham and Auto excel fell out it dragged on a further 6 months and was very stressful, now I'm creating accounts to complete surveys on an apprenticeship I finished 6 months ago with a mountain of work to do with all the spam emails.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
2/5
Refreshing my knowledge and reaffirming my confidence to perform my role

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
1/5
Was the programme, Thatcham did structure this but the AA was to organise site visits etc nothing ever happened I arranged visits for me, the AA did not support us in this
How much support do you receive from your employer?
1/5
Other than our time for the allotted work which is part of the contract likewise the visits to Thatcham otherwise we had no support and this scheme was only offered as we finished
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
Hit and miss, Thatcham on site was fantastic, work place support however was lacking.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
I'm up to date with current legislation and technology plus a confidence boost to pass with a distinction.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
We have activities, for my age and demographic group these are lacking. However engineers are not numerous and groups to tailor to engineers is problematic at best.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend The AA to a friend?
Yes
Why?
It has its share of problems same as anywhere else, but the AA is a fantastic place to work and the staff are an amazing bunch, it is more like a friends than colleagues all mucking in to get things done, that's priceless and although as stated has its problems is very much worth sticking around for.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to The AA?
We grow on ya!
