Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My day to day role is Change Readiness Manager, where I implement complex change into the Road Operations division of the business, considering the requirements and the impact on our people. I design change readiness plans and organise the change end to end. My role differs to change readiness management in other areas of the business as I am able to utilise business analyst and project management skills by manging programmes end to end.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

My apprenticeship is an Improvement Specialist course, where I build on my existing skills but extend them into portfolio management. I have also been introduced to statistics and using mini-tab, which I had not done much before. This allows me to quantify problems within the business and use data to drive the decisions I make.

I am required to make time within my working week to carry out my studies, but this is often difficult when I have a high workload. I need to be stricter with my own time management

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I will achieve a with a black belt in Lean Six Sigma by the end of the course, which is industry recognised, but I will be able use the skills and methods I have learnt throughout in my day to day work.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

I am able to join different communities within our organisation which helps me share learnings across group and learn from my colleagues- I am proud to be an AI champion and learn new skills and share those skills with my colleagues

Why?
I love working for The AA. i have been able to work in multiple roles over the past 13 years. I started as an apprentice and since then have comp0leted a further 4 apprenticeships. I am now working towards my 5th. This has allowed me to learn, grow and diversify, learning more about the business and demonstrate progress in my own ability and performance
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to The AA?
It is a high pressured and changing environment- take opportunities and keep a open mind. Hard work gets you far but a willingness to learn and growth mindset gets your even further
