Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
My role entails being a data analyst for a given set of clients whom I have worked closely with since the beginning of my placement. On a day to day basis I support my team on client work, dealing with some well know clients in the FMCG sector and I also worked alongside the New Business team, creating interest pieces and presenting to future clients.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
During my placement, I have been given a lot of responsibility where my work has been given directly to clients and I have presented pieces back to the clients myself. I also have the opportunity to choose what I want to get involved in so I can increase my responsibility if I would like more.

My placement has enabled me to develop presenting skills and taught me how to present in a professional manner to clients, which has helped me build confidence speaking to an audience (in this case virtual audience).

Although I started my placement virtually, I was given a lot of support from my sub team and my wider team with every team member always happy to help and I always feel comfortable to ask questions.

Company Culture
What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
Although it has all been virtual because of the pandemic, I love the atmosphere of the company! Everyone is so easy to talk to and very sociable which is important to me. As a business, a lot of my colleagues are in their early twenties also so it makes a great transition from University.

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
I have been so lucky with the team I have been put in as I love the clients I get to work with and my team have been so helpful helping me settle in. This placement has exceeded my expectations as I did not expect to enjoy myself this much and make as many friends as I have and I would love to return after my final year of uni.

What advice would you give to others applying to Kantar Worldpanel
Research the company and their clients! Before I applied I had no idea Kantar Worldpanel worked with so many well known companies so it is important to show your understanding of the company but it also helps you see the potential list of clients you could be working with!
