Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
My role as a placement student in the MFP team requires the use of an internal software to gather extensive data to then present actionable insights to clients which are displayed via decks.
On top of this, I also frequently create decks for any additional client requests outside of their usual reporting.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
Yes, I was given a fair amount of responsibility for a placement student. I particularly enjoyed how there was a sense of growing responsibility as you progressed which provided a sense of satisfaction and achievement. The responsibility I was given involved producing my own deck for a client, frequent contact with clients and being trusted to assist with client meetings.

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
I have developed strong analytical skills through data collection and analytical processes. I have also been able to gain enhanced communication skills through presenting insights to clients and other team members. Along with this, I have also been able to navigate real-world challenges within the market research field. These new skills have allowed me to develop a deeper understanding of the importance of consumer insights in driving business strategies and decision-making processes.

Support and Guidance
How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
The first weeks of this placement consist of a 2 week program which is designed to enable the placement student to excel in the job role. This is done via a detailed explanation of how to navigate all platforms and also a handover period from the previous placement student which is immensely useful.

Company Culture
What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
The culture at Kantar is motivating yet also extremely friendly. Everyone in my team was very friendly and welcoming which helps you settle in. Other teams in the office are also very friendly. At the beginning of my placement there was a social which was an excellent way to welcome new joiners. Along with this, there are frequent socials with other teams and the whole office which is a great way to network.

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Kantar Worldpanel and feel like it has been an excellent way to kickstart my career. From day 1 it was a very inclusive environment to work in with plenty of room to growth and ample aids to help you get there. I can see why the placement scheme is rated so highly at Kantar due to the facilities available to you to help with the growth of your career.

What advice would you give to others applying to Kantar Worldpanel
Pay attention to the presentation at the start as this will provide you with good knowledge of what the job will entail and also good questions to ask the interviewer. Ask intuitive questions and be proactive on the day of the assessment centre.
