Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
A software tester on projects that bring new software for the business to use internally to improve ways of working and make the business more efficient
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
It was good. Some parts were a little boring due to how it was taught by the training provider. Sometimes the way they taught it wasn’t effective. However the majority were good.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
Yes, learnt a lot about software development and testing. How different roles fit in to the team involved with projects. I’ve learnt how to be self motivated and manage my time effectively.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
It is organised decently by the provider. The main issue we faced was communication and management issues from the training provider. The instructor however was really good. Sometimes the sessions were boring but that may be preference
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I received lots of support from my employer, from flexible working hours to given time off to support my apprenticeship. My manager was supportive as well offering advise and help constantly throughout.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
I received the amount of support and help I expected. My instructor took it beyond that offering extra calls and help throughout.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
It helped me gain a foundation level of knowledge. And boost my knowledge. It helped me gain skills quicker than I may of without the course. I don’t think it would’ve made me who I am today without the hands on experience.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
Kind of, there are groups such as mental health, women communities and men as well as lgbt. There have been sport charity events in the past and things to get involved with.
