Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
I conduct sanctions screening of potential clients, I analyse whether the entities could pose a potential threat to Lockton if we place business with them. I also head up the gifts and entertainment register, where I monitor bribery and corruption risk.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
2/5
As the programme progressed I was able to see some overlap with my every day role. However at times I still do struggle. I have had difficulty in gauging if I am progressing at the right speed due to the slow pace of marking from my skills coach.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
Coming straight from sixth form into a corporate roll was daunting as I did not feel that I was equipped with the right skill sets. However I have continued to surprise myself. My communication skills grow daily, along with my proactive style of thinking.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
2/5
I would have preferred to have completely understood how the end point assessment worked towards the start of the programme, being provided this information towards the end has been quite stressful.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
My team specifically have been very supportive.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
1/5
I think that my training provider could have provided more support especially in relation to making my work. I have found months go by without some work being marked which can be very frustrating.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
I tend to keep my apprenticeship programme and my every day role separate, however I have completed my ICA exam which I did find extremely helpful to my role.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
There are different activates to get involved in, I know that there is a netball team at Lockton and a wider Lloyds football team. I also know that there is a group called ignite which is for anyone below the age of 30.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Lockton to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I have found the transition from school to work to be smooth, I believe that to be down to my team who have encouraged my growth as a person and as a professional.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Lockton?
Its a great opportunity to grow, so don't hesitate, just do it!
