Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
I am an FNOL team leader my day to day role is to look after my team, manager floor, deal with any HR related issues and coach and develop the constant improvement of my team. Not only this but to help my other managers out if they are off then I will pick up some of their work load as well to help.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I enjoyed it a lot not only because my trainer was great and very friendly and engaging. But the content was not dull and was actually useful for me to use day to day with my own team within my role. I would highly recommend anyone to put themselves forward for this apprenticeship.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
Yes, I learnt a lot from this apprenticeship. It has taught me to not only be more knowledgeable about how to learn about different learning types for people on my team. But it also taught me to use a range of different tools to help identify the best communication methods for my team.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
Yeah it was very well structured but I would say as a tip to anyone thinking of doing this make sure you are prepared to allocate yourself time outside of your working hours to ensure you have time to produce quality work each month when you go through each section otherwise it becomes a bit of a mad rush at the end!
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
I had a lot of support from my employer and my line manager they allowed me time in work to complete the work which they should do in line with the policy for the apprenticeship through work scheme. Not only this but I was able to lean on other employees who had done the course previously and passed for help and advice.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
I had lots of support from my trainer Andrew, he was always happy to speak to me outside of our allocated sessions as well if it was a phone call or text just to give me some ideas on what I need to do or if I was ever stuck on any training or pre work documents for the next shift.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
I feel that this has really helped me to perform better in my role as it has really given me a wider band of knowledge into understanding other management processes, and also how to identify different types of communication types or skills in my own team. I have then used these physical tools and forms in my own teams as well.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
2/5
There is not a great variety if I am honest, there are social based events every now and then but there could be more especially with so many people working remotely now. It is hard to get peoples buy in which I fully understand but more sport based would be a nice thing to get involved in.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend The AA to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I would recommend the AA as a place to work as they always been great to me and offered me not only the chance to grow and develop my career but also now to pass my knowledge onto others which is always rewarding. Not only this but the people really make it what it is and I would not like to work anywhere else.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to The AA?
Make sure that you really agree with the companies' values and make sure to be ready to really dedicate yourself to your role and any opportunities that may come your way. If you do this, then the AA will always feel rewarding and reward you personally for your own efforts.
