Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
On a day to day basis I’m will go to many different jobs and meet many interesting people. NOT 1 DAY IS THE SAME!
Recovery as a whole your classed as a class 1 driver but your so much more, your providing a service for valued members of the AA.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I really really did enjoy the apprenticeship program we was the first from the AA to go through the Recovery apprenticeship and it went so smoothly. Always someone on the end of the phone if you need them !

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
Yes I have upppn the apprenticeship. I have gained my class one and class two truck licenses.
This is such an incredible achievement on its own, but to get this through an apprenticeship whilst getting paid for it whilst doing all the training and process of getting your license speaks volumes.
I barley even knew what a truck was now I drive one every day and provide such a heartwarming service to many people helping them in not just getting home/ sorting there breakdown out but helping them in a challenging moment in there lifes!!!!

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
the apprenticeship program we was the first from the AA to go through the Recovery apprenticeship and to say we was the first lot off this the AA have ever dealt with it and very smoothly and was very well organised and planned throughout
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
ENDLESS !
whenever I needed anything absolutely anything could be the silliest thing ever and someone will be answering the phone with confidence and reassurance
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
The training provider on a whole was good (GTG), a few challenges along the was of rebooking tests and getting slots but I guess that’s normal for any truck test so on a whole quite easy going m.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
For my actual role it’s more from the AA who has the specific training and very highly Qualified individuals training you specifics and if you have any doubts then you do it again and again untill your confident with it.
Every department from training from the AA has been exempt
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
Many optunites within the AA to go and do charity events and raise money, for example london Marathon is one where an employee would be greatly encouraged. And I’m sure they will be open to many many more in the future.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend The AA to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Put it this way. When I first joined I was 18years old barley new how to drive a car fresh driver had been driving since 17.
The amount of TRUST and help and absolutely everything the AA has put in me is just incredible.
I passed my Class 1 truck license when I was still 18 one of the youngest to ever do so!
And then to have a full time well paid RESPECTED job at the end of it is incredible.
A very good company to work for I honestly couldn’t recommend the company enough.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to The AA?
Give them a Ring have a chat people always want a chat know exactly what your applying for.
And have FUN whilst doing so keep a smile on your face!
