My role involves investigating non-conformities within the business, be it product or document related.
My roles also consists of clearly defining problems, so that the business can identify solutions that can be implemented.
Ensuring we remain compliant to business law and governing bodies around the world.

I have enjoyed my experiences at Siemens Healthineers, recognising the multitude of development opportunities provided by the apprenticeship programme.
I enjoy challenges and looking for solutions. Understanding (and seeing) personal and character progression.
The purpose of the programme is to develop the apprentices skills to carry forward into the role itself.

I have learnt new skills relating to tools and techniques when defining a problem, and the next steps to take to implement improvements.
I have a deeper knowledge of compliance now, understanding why "We say what we do, we do what we say" is so important.

How well organised/structured is your programme?

My programme is structure relatively well. Course enrolment occurs at the start of the apprenticeship. Opportunities to view other areas of the business are available and structured as short term secondments.
We often have feedback sessions to gain a better understanding of struggles and what can be done to improve the programme in the future.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

More than plenty of support is provided by the business.
Feedback / Catch-up sessions often occur to ensure that everything is proceeding at it should be. The business will take on counter-measures to help and support where required. As long as they know about the issue, it will get resolved by the team.

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I catch-up with my training provider about once a month, but is always contactable and will support throughout.
Support provided revolves around ensuring that I understand the topics and content of the course itself. Also to provide tips on what the End Point Assessment criteria is looking for and how to better prepare yourself to achieve certain grades.

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

My qualification helps me to use tools and techniques in order to clearly define an issue. Determining what is in and out of scope, so that a team can identify the root cause of the problem. This will then lead to effect solution implementation and how to best control the process moving forward.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Plenty of activities to get involved in. Well-being events are often held, encouraging everyone across the site to participate. These events contribute to team building and getting to know people outside a work context.
Other events such as Summer and Christmas parties.
STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) events are also conducted with local schools.

I have recommended the programme to many people looking for a challenge or those wanting to progress themselves.
It gives you a chance to work with a great team in the Medical industry.
You have the opportunity to develop your skills, which will remain with you after the apprenticeship is finished.

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Siemens Healthineers?
I would encourage everyone to take on as many development opportunities as they could. Be willing to work with others.
Be confident in yourself and don't be intimidated by the interview process, the interview team just want to know who you are and how you work.
Don't worry about feeling you're not right for the role or 'lack' knowledge / experience, the point and purpose of the apprenticeship programme is to develop you!
