Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
When I arrive in a morning, I run a daily dashboard which distributes data to our mortgage operations department via email, that contains over 150 people. I then review our job log to see if any new tasks have been received and then complete them accordingly. Some tasks are small adhoc tasks and some are larger 'projects'.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I really enjoy the programme that I am on. I feel that there is a good mix of on the job as well as off the job learning and I also think that there is a fair amount of time set aside in order to complete apprenticeship work. My team are also very accommodating and allow for any extra time needed during busy periods, such as exams.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have learnt many new skills during my time so far at Newcastle Building Society. I have adapted to home working life meaning i can self manage my time. I have also adapted to having various communication skills as i am now back in the office. I have also developed many new skills such as analytical and software knowledge.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
There is a good mix of self-managing and tutor led organization. I feel like i am good at organizing my work load and college work in order to get both done. However, on top of this, I have monthly meetings with my tutor to ensure that I am still on track.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I receive as much support from my employer as I ask for. I know that there is always help and support available whenever I need it, in terms of support with work, mentoring, peer support or just someone to talk to. The support is always there and I know that more is always available if needed.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
I receive support from my training provider in various ways. We have monthly meetings to ensure that I am on track with my portfolio work and anything else that is due. I receive support on this work via the portal, I upload my documents that I would like feedback on, and my tutor will mark and upload the file for me to see. This helps with the editing process and progression.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
The qualification helps me to perform better within my role as it helps me to have more of an understanding of the processes that I do within my work and why I do them. I have a deeper understanding of why the work is important and the theory and knowledge behind it.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
There are lots of things that I can get involved with at work. Although due to Covid and it's restrictions over the past few years, I have managed to get myself in some actives such as sponsored walks which were done virtually (without meeting up), and also dogs walks etc.
