Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
I am a Dev Ops engineer and i work within the engine room at IBM. I undertake may day to day activities such as creating clusters, Tekton pipelines and much more. 20% of my time is set aside for my apprenticeship which i do write reflective reports for the training i have done and the different POC's i work on.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I am still on my programme but so far i am very much enjoying it, i was very welcomed when i first join and now i feel i am a valued member of my team whithin the engine room. I can speak to anyone if i need anything. it is well beyond any expectations i had.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
All of the skills i use on a day to day basis i have learnt since joining ibm. this involves use of all the different software that i must use. i have been fully trained on all of these skills which was provided by IBM within the first 3 weeks of joining so i was prepared so the role ahead.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
My Programe is very well structured and orginaised, i have monthly updates with my mentor who sets me goals for the next month and reviews my work on the previous months work. i feel this structure works well as i get my work done in good time and know what i need to be doing.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
the support at ibm is very good, my manager always checks up on me and makes sure i am ok in my job and mentally and psychically. there is always someone i can go to wether it be my team lead, team members, manager or someone else within the business.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I get a lot of support from my training provider, i i can always reach out to them and ask them anything and they will always get back to me. my mentor will respond quickly if i ask him a question or if i need any help with anything, I do enjoy this.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
My qualification is exactly what i need to preform my day to day roles as a dev ops engineer, this is as a result of being put on some training courses about being a devops engineer. i defiantly know more about being a devops engineer than i did before i started my role as a devops engineer.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
There are lots of social events that i get invited to, mostly at the head office in London, there have been some IBM consulting social events that have happened. there are lots of sports teams to get involved in, for example i was invited to a football tournament which was happening in London.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend IBM to a friend?
Yes
Why?
IBM is an excellet cimplay to work for, they are very acomodating, very friendly and helpful and the work is very enjoyable. the best thing about working for ibm is the energy within the teams is always very positive, anyone you ask is always very quick to help if/when you need it.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to IBM?
my biggest tip would be to enjoy yourself, if you don't enjoy your work its not going to be your best, IBM make it very easy to enjoy yourself whilst at work. Another tip would be to not be afraid to ask for any help as the people who work at IBM are always keen to help.
