Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
My role situates me as part of the UK Salesforce Comms Team, where I help the tower leads for Media & Entertainment, Telecommunications, and Energy & Utilities, in preparing reason for piurchases for prospective clients, researching on previous involvement in similar cases by Salesforce, and also help create easily-digestible decks to be presented back to clients.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I find my programme really enjoyable as it is a type of job I have never don before. I am used to manual jobs, but have always wanted to puruse a career in sales as I felt this better aligned to my skills. The amount of oppurtunities to learn and grow in such a finite amount of time so far has blown my expectations already.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
The main skill that IBm has helped me develop further since joinng is time management. I previously worked as a waitr, so I knew about the importyance of being able to effectgively decide what taks to prioritse to ge the best result. This skill has been elevated by IBM as I have to juggle apprenticeship and job specific work to strike a balance and achieve success.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
My programme is extremely well structured as it allows for consistent progression through learning courses, assignments, and catch ups with foundation managers and previous apprentices of my pathway. Having courses laid across the whole length of the apprenticeship mens that you can always have a next session in mind and have a chance to showcase your new skills that have been accessed through working on job related tasks.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
My employer is incredibly supportive as they show a balance betweern the freedom to tackle to durartion of the course in your ownc time and way. but also check in on you on a consistent basis. For example, my foundation manager always catches up with me weekly but does not always set deadlines for things that I know I should be doing at a particular pace.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
My training provider is the same as my employer. IBM are a very specific company that allow for in house apprenticeship shcemes to allow them to create a learning and coaching experience that will help IBM improve as well as the apprentice after completion. As a whole, I have had a ton of support from many people at IBM.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
My technical sales pathway means that I can build skills that are correlated to my job role of being a salesforce sales consultant. For example, in the training courses for my apprenticeship we do a lot of presenting to the hosting managers, which I directly use to improve my presenting style when using it with salesforce or clients.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
There are many sport and leisure teams at IBM, that are inclusive to anyone that wants to build their network or just have some fun with their fellow workers after a hard days work. These are readily available on many slack channels, showing how much IBM value social interaction and togetherness as a company.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend IBM to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I would recommend IBM to a friend, but also specifically my apprenticeship pathway, because the skills and character development you build across your time is unparralell to any job I have any been in. The managers encourage growth, your peers encourage you to think outaide the box and in turn this helps encourage yourself to do better.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to IBM?
Try to be different. The people reviewing applications will want to see soomething that stands out, that makes them want to keep reading. If you can show yourself to be outside of the box, but also present youtrself in a professional manner, you will be putting yourself within the best contention.
