Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My role involved managing and maintaining one of the brands website. This involves updating the content, fixing SEO errors, creating new pages and more. I also create assets on photoshop. This could be for the website, social media, or any other website ( for example an external distributor or e retail site).
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I really enjoy it. Starting online was really difficult as it was easy to feel isolated when working. However since going into the office I feel so much more part of the team. I feel I am able to enjoy it so much more. There are always stresses within the programme which can become overwhelming, but it doesnt stop me from enjoying it.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Along with studying for a business management degree, I have learnt so many new skills since joining! I was completely new to marketing and so many of the skills I learnt were completely new to me. I have been trained on areas of digital marketing such as SEO, photoshop, asset design etc. However I have also really been able to improve my communication skills. I work with many external teams where it is vital to be clear and concise. There are many training courses available for you at Loreal.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

We are currently going through a change in the structure of the programme, where we are transferring from Pearson College to Kent University. However so far the programme has been really well organised on both sides. Both my study ad my work are based in London which makes travelling easier. I feel I have not seen the full extent of the organisations as I have been doing it remotely
How much support do you receive from your employer?

My manager is very supportive with everything I do. We have weekly 1-1 calls where we catch up on my tasks and progress. However she is also keen to catch up on my personal and uni life, which makes me feel really supported in the team. We talk every single day meaning I do not feel left in the dark. I have not had much interaction with HR so far.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

As mentioned earlier, we are currently being transferred from Pearson College to University of Kent. From Pearson I have received quite a bit of support. We have a mentor who runs weekly drop is sessions for any questions we may have. There are many different contacts for us to choose from when we need help and support. There is help from study skills to mental health.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

In my 1 term so far there has not been much cross over between my degree course and my role, however in the upcoming terms there are many modules that will definitely help me perform better in my role. I do feel that my role helps me to better understand the theory I am learning
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

I am in the intern and apprentice social committee at Loreal. This involves organising the social events for 150+ interns and apprentices. We are given a budget and then from there is is up to us to plan an event. As my role has been 90% remote so far, I have not been to any company events or activities however I am very excited for whats to come

Would you recommend L'Oreal to a friend?
Yes
Why?
The main reason I would recommend Loreal is due to the opportunities. Loreal are very keen to invest in you and your learning. There are many live training courses and online courses available covering a wide range of topics. We are also given 3 coursera credits for further training. There are also many opportunities after the apprenticeship.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to L'Oreal?
The application process is really tough, there are many different rounds. I applied to a role in 2020 where I was unfortunately rejected, however I feel the role I was accepted into 6 months later was better and more suited for me! Do not get knocked back by any part, keep pushing through. For the presentations just remain calm, speak slowly and clearly and dont waffle! You will be great!!!!!
