Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
The daily basis varies drastically and is highly dependant on current business needs and requirements. The average day starts at 9 pm and finishes around 6 pm, Prevsiulsty when back in the office the social atmosphere was great and loreal really brought team members together.
Specifics of the job,
Retail reporting
Gatekeeping
Online business strategy projects
Data Resolution
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
Enjoyment of the program varies. I'm not a massive fan of the degree; The content lacks application and what I'm interested in. An option to pick something more relevant could increase the quality of the education and passion for getting the work done. I'm sure this could be done by with other organisations(unis). A degree in finance or economics would be desirable to many individuals

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
The whole program has massively developed my skills across the board. Firstly general organisation skill has increased. Being surround by majorly talented people allows you to pick up and learn the best skills super fast
General presentation skills have also been approved. Loreal really knows how to pull together a PowerPoint,

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
Program structure could be increased. However, there has not been a moment that I have felt excluded or left out. Each day we complete uni on a Friday, this is nice as we know what to expect. Teams are very indepenat and this is very subjective on your mangers and wider team
How much support do you receive from your employer?
3/5
I think the employer could provide more support. Sometimes learning can be hindered by business requirements and needs. Additional support could be provided in several ways
Bringing to together interns on a more frequent basis and introducing new interns to older ones- Some mentor scheme and socials.
More frequent HR catch ups and feedback opportunities
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
We receive a half-day off to complete our uni work for each hand in. This is sufficient, and I do not think any additional time would increase the grades of students. Sometimes people don't take this time due to the workload on their day to day job, which could be an area to look at
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
Training provided by the university has not singly helped my job. A more practical course would be required. It is a challenging balance between academia and application. However, no doubt i think Pearson offer a more practical university experience than many other universities therefore this is not something which could be fixed. Course offered by loreal have massively. The training available internally is endless and you can quickly always learn a new skill.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
COVID-19 has stopped this therefore this is not a question that can be spoken about

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend L'Oreal to a friend?
Yes
Why?
The whole experience has been great. The company culture produces and drives personal development in a way few organisations could. The people you meet genuinely make the experience, and the support is there where required. Overall, focus can improve the scheme, but this is inevitable, and improvements to all programs could be made. The biggest issue is the wage of £18K is not a lot and does not go a long way in London. Especially when other apprentices are on far more. Funding is required from parents to be able to enjoy life which could exclude a lot of talented individuals
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to L'Oreal?
Be hoenst and highligjht your peorsnal strenths. Don't lie in the interview as long as you show logical problem-solving. You will be fine.
Prepare for the assessment; know your facts and general market information
it is more of a conversation. You are interviewing them just as much as they are investing you
