Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
My role was a Duty Technician which was a shift based role. I was in charge of multiple national critical live services for the Home Office. I would monitor and maintain these services ensuring that they were working at all times without any issues, during either day or night.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
extremely, it was great to meet new like-minded early professionals on the scheme and work along side them. The training courses were great and helped to develop new and existing skills. My role was a great introduction into the working environment and overall the best experience of my life.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have learnt a vast array of new skills such as a consulting and presenting skills that help within the professional environment. I further developed my communication skills and also decision making as well. Due to my role, I also gained great skills in time management as well.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
my programme was structured really well. It was clearly outlined by my EPM, the steps and work needed to be able to pass the programme with a distinction grade (which I achieved after two years). Everything was laid out on a website made by interns which helped my greatly.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
lots, whenever I was stuck or needed help. I always had someone to talk to and get help from. This was very important for when I hit brick walls or couldn't make ends meet on certain parts of my programme.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
I cant really recall needing help from my training provider during my time working towards my qualifications but Im sure that if I needed it, I could get it.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
it has helped my develop as a early professional and kickstart my career at IBM. It taught my the basics of communication with the client, presenting, professional writing and many more skills that are needed in the modern workplace.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
I did take part in a lot of professional networking events that were offered. I don't recall any sporting teams but I did become a regular in the gym. I did partake in social activities as well, but not all the time.
