Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Working on the operations for the MQ product. Providing test infrastructure support and development to allow the MQ team to effectively develop and test their code.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I love learning and gaining experience in the field that I am working in. It has really allowed me to showcase myself as more of an expert everyday.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have learnt many new skills. Countless programming languages and general applications of my skills to a professional standard.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
The structure is very well organised and communication is top-notch. There are never any scenarios of which I wouldn't know who to contact if I were in a situation.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
The support I receive is great! I have a plethora of contacts I can go to for support on any issue within any field.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
My training provider did not provide as much support, it was a fast-track apprenticeship and this would be why.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
I feel that my qualification has quite outdated content at no fault of IBM or the training provider. I believe the standards for the qualification would do with some updating.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
There are many extra-curricular activities I have gotten involved in at IBM. Many of which are giveback events where I assist others in activities or hosting events. I also play football during lunch with other members of IBM.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend IBM to a friend?
Yes
Why?
IBM is a great place to learn and build valuable skills that see you throughout life. It is also very great for your CV as IBM is a reputable place to work at. The skills learnt here have helped me massively grow as a person and as an expert in the industry.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to IBM?
Keep an open mind. You may not know what path you want to explore until a couple years in. Be sure to raise any concerns the moment you have them and you will receive a quick response.
