Mechanical engineering summer placement Review

Modeling ducts and pipework systems in a simple and efficient design using Revit software.
Conduct research such as power consumption of various IT equipment in a building to estimate heat gains.
Attend weekly meetings within a project team to give feedback and update each other on our work.

I was honored and lucky to have worked on a real life project with a great responsibility allowing my work to be included in the deliverable that was sent to a real client.

I have improved my revit skills drastically that would better equip me for a role in a building services engineering career in the future.
I have learned team work skills, how to efficiently work together in a group in a harmonious environment.
I have learned how to independently conduct research that is related and beneficial to a certain aim.
I have learned how to organise and manage my time more efficiently.

I was so grateful and lucky to have been guided by amazing, qualified, brilliant people that were ever so patient in teaching me everything I needed to know to be fully equipped for this placement.

The company had so many social and wellbeing events that greatly improved the social atmosphere. Mu favourite was the “good news” event where each member in the company had the choice of sharing a “good news” that would lift up the spirit of others. Later in the event everyone was given the chance to name their “hero” someone who has been there for them during the challenging times of the past year’s pandemic. What a cute company!

I have enjoyed my placement very much and can’t wait to go back to work for such an amazing company after my master’s year!
