Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the virtual experience and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
The experience provided an insight into the Global Advisory and Wealth Management divisions. Each day consisted of presentations or networking sessions where we could interact with the bankers to understand their roles and ask many questions. Alongside this, we were given the opportunity to work on an interesting group presentation and presented this to bankers and HR at the end of the experience.
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
The HR team was always more than willing to provide information about the various roles available within Rothschild & Co. Also, we had the chance to learn about the many roles available within the company during the presentations and case study.

Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
As a result of this experience, I have developed an array of skills. Firstly, I have been able to improve my commercial awareness and research ability due to the group presentation work. Also, the presentation and skills workshop improved my communicational ability and leadership skills. Finally, this experience has enhanced my teamworking and networking skills due to both the group presentation work and the many icebreaker and networking sessions available.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
The culture of the company was extremely warm and welcoming and there was a true unity between all the staff. Each banker and HR member was always more than happy to answer our questions and direct us to people within the company to receive an in-depth response about a specific team/role.

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy the virtual experience?
Although virtual, Rothschild put in a lot of effort to create a very interactive and enjoyable experience, with many opportunities to network with both the bankers and fellow interns. I have come away from the experience having developed an array of skills which will help me moving forwards within the industry.

The biggest piece of advice I would give is to reach out to those within the company to learn about the culture, deal-flow etc from a personal perspective to understand whether the bank is the right fit for you.
