Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

Working on some kind of project, most often having discussions with a coworker working on the same project and doing computational work either in grasshopper/rhino or creating scripts etc in python or c#.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

Yes, a lot but at the same time there was always someone there to rely on with questions or if I was unsure about anything.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?

I´ve learnt programming in both C# and python and have really developed my skills in both grasshopper and rhino, including plugins such as honeybee and ladybug. This will be incredibly helpful in my continued studies and worklife. Overall I feel like I´ve developed a lot of different skills in different areas, such as explaining my thoughts in a constructive way for my coworkers and developing my collaborating skills.

Company Culture

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

Very welcoming and I was never afraid of asking a senior colleague for advice or help. They made it easy to fit in and get to know people through everyday interactions or through socials organised by the YEF.
