Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
I helped on live deals and marketing. This included creating powerpoint slides, attending client meetings and taking notes, analysing and computing data in excel.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
Yes, I was given the opportunity to email clients and my opinion felt valued within the team. Towards the end of my internship I was also trusted to complete work on my own without continuous shadowing which aided my development and confidence

I have learnt which workstreams need to be prioritised, how to work quickly and accurately, and also the job is extremely dynamic so I have learnt quickly

My team were extremely supportive and continuously encouraged us to ask questions. I always felt as though i could ask if i needed help

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
The culture has been great, especially within the team. They made an effort to organise socials and introduce themselves to us. It has been a really supportive environment and I felt comfortable very quickly

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
I have really enjoyed the internship. There have been times where it was hectic but I love the fast paced environment. In addition, my team have also always been working alongside me so it has never felt isolated.

What advice would you give to others applying to Rothschild & Co
The most important thing is having the correct attitude towards the work and learning. In my experience, it has been okay if I was not fluent in the technical language and did not have a financial background so long as I was willing to learn and understand.
