Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

Daily tasks include running meetings with the project team, delegating tasks and gathering updates on tasks that are in progress.
Business Analyst - Market research, writing tickets on how different product features should work
Scrum Master - project management skills
Service designer - user research, Visual and UX design work on figma and blender with 3D work.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

Yes - I was given lots of responsibility over the course of my internship. At the beginning I was a trusted resource on projects and this confidence and trust continued to grow throughout my placement. At the end of my placement I was the product lead for a couple different client offerings.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?

I acquired lots of new skills, a low level understanding of different coding languages, mainly in Swift. The use of new design tools with Figma and Blender, the importance of design in any project. I grew my project management skills, understanding how a project works best, how to get the best out of your team as well as many other situational skills. Personally, confidence has grown including giving presentations.

Support and Guidance

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?

Task manager and foundation manager were always on hand if I had any questions or worries. Be it personal or professional, I always felt supported. My other colleagues also always wanted to help me grow, gain new skills and have different experiences.

Company Culture

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

Company culture was great, everyone is trusted to get on with their tasks, no micro-management, the agile way of working and approach to projects was key to maintaining a great team culture. The work life balance in the office and outside of the office was great.
