Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
My role as a Communications Specialist includes a wide variety of responsibilities, primarily focusing on supporting internal and external communications.
- liaising with external agencies to process purchase orders each quarter
- supporting organic and paid social
- managing the UKI Newsroom, uploading news and press releases
- editing executive comms videos using Adobe software such as Premiere pro

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
I was given lots of responsibility as I had the autonomy to choose which projects I wanted to get involved with. i ha the chance to co-lead on a project that ran throughout my entire placement year.

Whilst there were some tasks that weren't the most exciting and at times I found my role stressful, I certainly enjoyed my placement year overall.

Do you research on the company and try and train yourself in hard skills that you know you are likely going to need. Also spend time developing your soft skills such as the ability to present/communicate effectively.
