Property Administrator
At Peer Group
Placement (10 Months+)
During my first four months as a Regional Property Administrator, I have gained valuable experience in all aspects of property management. My tasks include invoicing, liaising with tenants and contractors, and maintaining accurate records.
One of the things that I enjoy most about working for Peer Group is how the students are treated as valued members of the team and given significant responsibilities to contribute to the company. My colleagues are always happy to help and share their knowledge. I have spent time with the accounts, legal and building services team separately which has given me a broader understanding of the different areas of the business and how they work together to support the successful management of the property portfolio.
We are also given the opportunity to visit the various sites in our portfolio and meet the tenants, helping us to build a strong landlord-tenant relationship and enabling us to work efficiently with them.
One of the biggest challenges about my role is managing several tasks and once and ensuring the most important are prioritised. It can also be demanding to deal with urgent maintenance or tenant issues under pressure.
My advice to another student looking to join Peer Group would be to build good relationships with your colleagues and ask as many questions as you need. Get involved with as many projects as you can and visit the various sites to deepen your understanding of the portfolio.
