Business
The Regional Property Administrator supports the daily management of a portfolio of properties by handling administrative tasks, coordinating maintenance and repairs, processing invoices and maintaining accurate records. I am a key point of contact between tenants, contractors and property managers, ensuring efficient operation of our buildings and compliance with regulations.
The highlights of my work have been, developing strong organisational and problem-solving skills while managing multiple properties and coordinating with tenants, contractors and internal teams. I’ve also gained valuable industry knowledge in property law, lease management and compliance, finding it rewarding to see the direct impact of my work on tenant satisfaction and the smooth operations of our properties.
One of the main challenges of being a Regional Property Administrator has been managing a high volume of tasks across multiple sites while ensuring nothing is overlooked in the process. It can also be demanding to handle urgent maintenance issues or tenant concerns under pressure, often requiring quick decision-making and effective communication to ensure issues or properly addressed.
This role has taught me how to manage my priorities effectively, while staying organised and focused on the tasks put in front of me. I’ve learned the importance of clear communication when working with tenants, contractors and colleagues to resolve issues quickly and professionally. The role has also helped me develop confidence in decision-making and a strong understanding of property management processes and compliance sustainability.
My advice to a student following in my footsteps is to stay organised and always keep track of your tasks, as juggling multiple jobs is a big part of the role. Don’t be afraid to ask questions, as it’s the best way to learn, especially when dealing with legal documents or property processes. Finally, build good relationships with your team and external contacts, as strong communication and teamwork help makes everything run more smoothly and allows you not to feel alone in the work that you do.
