Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

Every day is different! Most days I am on site, but I occasionally do work from home. I also travel to different sites regularly. The role involves getting a product from concept to launch. The role allows you to support on projects as well as take responsibility for your own projects. Things that you may get up to include concept recipe development, benchwork, carrying out sample requests, shelf-life testing, benchmarking, ideation sessions, trials, attending launches and monitoring production runs and weekly meetings. You collaborate with engineering, marketing and technical as well as external suppliers.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

Yes, I have been given lots of responsibilities (more so in the second half of placement) and I have been given several projects that I have responsibility for and lead.

Support and Guidance

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?

I received lots of support, especially from my mentor and line manager. I could always ask for help/ ask any questions and know they will always support me.
