Overview of the Role

Overall, how would you describe your experience at Premier Foods?

My experience at Premier Foods has been extremely positive and rewarding. As a graduate, I have been given meaningful responsibility from an early stage, allowing me to contribute to key projects while developing both my commercial and marketing skills. I've worked alongside supportive colleagues who have invested in my development, and I've gained exposure to a wide range of business functions, giving me a well-rounded understanding of the FMCG industry.

What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?

My role involves supporting brand strategy, helping to deliver projects, analysing market and consumer data, and collaborating with cross-functional teams including Sales, Category, Insights, Finance and R&D. The aspect I enjoy most is working on projects that have a visible impact on the business, particularly using consumer insights to shape brand decisions and seeing ideas develop from concept through to execution.

To what extent does your role give you the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued by your team?

5/5
My role provides significant opportunities to contribute meaningfully. As a graduate, I have been trusted to own projects and provide input into important business decisions, which has helped me build confidence and experience quickly. My contributions are recognised by the team, and I feel valued as a member of the business rather than being treated solely as a graduate. The collaborative culture encourages everyone to share ideas and perspectives.

How does your compensation package - including perks & benefits - fairly remunerate you for the work you do?

5/5
I feel that the compensation package is competitive and fair for a graduate role. In addition to salary, the wider benefits package and development opportunities add significant value.

How well do you feel the role is preparing you for your future career?

5/5
The role has been excellent preparation for my future career. It has provided exposure to a variety of business challenges, stakeholders and projects, helping me build both technical marketing knowledge and broader commercial awareness. The level of responsibility, combined with support and guidance from colleagues, has accelerated my development and given me confidence to take on more senior responsibilities in the future.

How would you rate the extent to which you were developing new or existing skills through formal training and your day-to-day role?

5/5
I would rate this very highly. Formal training has helped build foundational knowledge, while day-to-day responsibilities have provided continuous opportunities to apply and develop those skills in a practical environment. Throughout the programme I have strengthened my analytical, communication, project management and stakeholder management skills, while also gaining a deeper understanding of brand marketing and the FMCG industry.

Experience & Company Culture

How is the support you receive?

5/5
The support I have received throughout my time at Premier Foods has been excellent. As a graduate, I have benefited from a strong network of managers, mentors and colleagues who have been invested in my development from day one. I have always felt comfortable asking questions, seeking guidance and taking on new challenges, knowing there is support available when needed. The balance of encouragement, feedback and trust has helped me build confidence and develop professionally at a fast pace.

How is your work-life balance?

5/5
I have found the work-life balance at Premier Foods to be very good. The company promotes a flexible and supportive working culture, which helps employees manage both their professional and personal commitments effectively. While there are naturally busier periods around key projects and deadlines, there is a strong emphasis on wellbeing and maintaining a healthy balance. I have always felt trusted to manage my workload and supported by my team when priorities need to be balanced.

What is the organisational culture, values and general atmosphere like?

5/5
Premier Foods has a welcoming, collaborative and inclusive culture. From the beginning of the graduate programme, I felt encouraged to contribute ideas and take ownership of my work. Colleagues are approachable and supportive, and there is a strong focus on teamwork and continuous improvement.

How would you rate Premier Foods initiatives when it comes to equality, diversity, inclusion and accessibility?

5/5
I would rate Premier Foods highly in this area. Throughout my time on the graduate programme, I have experienced an inclusive and welcoming culture where individuals are encouraged to bring their authentic selves to work.

How would you rate Premier Foods CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) initiatives?

5/5
I would rate Premier Foods' CSR initiatives very highly. Throughout my time on the graduate programme, it has been clear that the company is committed to operating responsibly and making a positive impact beyond commercial performance. There is a strong focus on sustainability, supporting local communities and ensuring responsible business practices across the organisation.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Premier Foods to a friend?

Yes

Why?

Yes, I would highly recommend Premier Foods to a friend, particularly to someone looking to start their career in the FMCG industry. The graduate programme provides a great balance of structured development, meaningful responsibility and exposure to different areas of the business.

How well did the role match your expectations based on the recruitment process?

5/5
The role matched my expectations very well and, in many ways, exceeded them. Throughout the recruitment process, Premier Foods emphasised the level of responsibility, development opportunities and collaborative culture available to graduates, and this has been reflected in my experience. From an early stage, I was given meaningful projects and the opportunity to work with a wide range of stakeholders across the business, which allowed me to make a genuine contribution while continuing to learn.

When considering the recruitment & onboarding process, have you any specific tips or advice you would give to others applying to Premier Foods?

My advice would be to be yourself throughout the application process and demonstrate a genuine interest in both the FMCG industry and Premier Foods' brands. The recruitment process is designed to assess not only your skills and experience, but also your enthusiasm, curiosity and potential to learn and grow.
