Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
Designing denim garments for womens wear. This involves trend forecasting research, sketching designs, compiling design pack to be sent out to suppliers and attending fit session to aid reviewing of product samples. Giving design centred opinion in relevant meeting and presenting work is a huge element of this role also.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
Yes, I was given loads of responsibility. There was always support when required and my work is always checked before being sent out to wider teams.

Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
I have learnt many new skills and developed others. I have learnt how to use many packs in the Adobe suite i.e PhotoShop & InDesign and I have developed my skills in others i.e Illustrator. I have learnt a great deal on how to carry out trend research and different reputable resources to use.

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
I was given some support and could ask for help if I needed it. I worked in a particularly busty department so everyone was generally very occupied with their own work so there was a certain amount of self directed learning.

I enjoyed it loads, my mind was opened to so many different aspects of the business. Opportunity was readily available if you reached out for it.
