Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

I carry out VAT checks, complete balance sheet reconciliations and intercompany billing tasks. I have also learnt how to post month-end journals and carry out the relevant checks so that everything is in on time.
My team is split internationally, so I have been given the opportunity to work with people from all over the world.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

Yes I was given lots of responsibilities. I was treated as a full member of the team and not as a placement student who was only at the company for a year. My colleagues trusted me and helped me where I needed it throughout my entire placement year.

The main skill I have developed is Microsoft Excel, which is vital in an financial job.
I have also developed my networking and communication skills, as well as my ability to prioritse responsibilities within my team.

I was constantly receiving support from those around me during my internship. My team was very helpful whenever I required it.

Company Culture

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

It is a great company to work for and I would strongly recommend anyone to apply for any job openings. The atmosphere in the office was always great and there was great flexibility within working hours.
