Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
A combination of attending talks run by employees at the firm (ranging from introductions to Q&As to workshops), networking and doing tasks for the lawyers. Also opportunities to attend client and internal meetings. Each day I worked on a different case or research task from a range of sectors, depending on who I had spoken to or expressed interest in assisting with.
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
It was really interesting - we had a huge range of talks across the week, giving us with a broad overview of the firm and all that it stands for.
Even though a week is a short time, the different sessions allowed us to get a general overview of the different legal sectors provided by the firm.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
I developed my research skills, especially in a legal industry. I also developed my networking abilities through constantly talking to as many people as possible (especially in a speed-dating network session that the grad recruitment team ran for us).

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
The culture was great - exceeded my expectations. Did not seem as hierarchical as I had anticipated. Everyone was really friendly and genuinely very interested in getting to know each of us.

To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
I really enjoyed this scheme. I'm happy that I got the chance to gain an insight into life as a trainee solicitor at a busy law firm, and it has made me excited for the future.
