Overall, how would you describe your experience at Balfour Beatty?
My experience at Balfour Beatty has been great. I have learnt lots about the construction industry and have felt supported along the way.
What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?
The main responsibilities of the role are creating a programme that outlines the sequence of activities within the construction of a building, updating the programme to reflect the actual progress and ensuring the programme runs to time.
To what extent does your role give you the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued by your team?

I feel as though I can contribute meaningfully and feel valued by the team as I have always been supported to work at my level and was continually supported whilst also learning throug a graduate programme.
How does your compensation package - including perks & benefits - fairly remunerate you for the work you do?

The perks most valuable to me include getting a company car which allows me to drive to work, also getting the opportunity to buy extra annual leave makes work life balance feel like its valued at work.
How well do you feel the role is preparing you for your future career?

Very well, I am constantly learning new things and putting these into practice through supportive peers.
How would you rate the extent to which you were developing new or existing skills through formal training and your day-to-day role?

I have a good mix of time spent learning through site visits and shadowing colleagues whilst also being stretched and putting this learning into practice by being set personal tasks and goals.

How is the support you receive?

The support from HR is very easy to receive as it is accessed through an online portal where you can place a query or enter alive support chat. My line manager is also available to answer any questions promptly.
How is your work-life balance?

I have a very good work life balance, for example we get an early finish on a friday and the ability to buy extra annual leave. However we do work longer hours than peers who work elsewhere.
What is the organisational culture, values and general atmosphere like?

Everybody is inclusive and welcoming, there are also company wide networks for minority groups that you are encouraged to get involved in.

Why?
The systems set up make settling in easy, for example being able to access HR from a live chat and being able to solve any issues quickly and easily has been great as a new starter. The benefits provided with the job make you feel like a valued member of the team and is a great environment for starting a career.
