Overall, how would you describe your experience at Balfour Beatty?
Engaging - lots of great opportunities and responsibilities given to young graduates. Also lots of Early Careers events and a strong support network within the business.
What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?
Contract management, reporting, client interface and record keeping
Contract management and implementation is all about identifying scope/change, but also the responsibilities and commitments of the parties involved.
This is one of the most engaging aspects of the role and helps to develop a wide variety of interpersonal and commercial skills.

To what extent does your role give you the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued by your team?

I have been trusted with a high level of responsibility which has allowed me to feel valued and improve my confidence. I have managed large packages in my first year, as well as having a regular involvement with internal reporting, payments and upstream applications.
How does your compensation package - including perks & benefits - fairly remunerate you for the work you do?

I started on a good grad salary of £32,500.00. This has quickly increased due to the benefits of bi-yearly salary reviews based on job performance.
How well do you feel the role is preparing you for your future career?

The level of responsibility I have been given, and the range in exposure to different industry entities from insurance companies, clients, subcontractors and suppliers has really allowed me to develop my understanding of many aspects of the industry quickly.

I am developing quickly in my current position, mainly due to the support and advisement of a strong and experienced senior commercial team.

How is your work-life balance?

Living away from home for part of the week can put strain on personal relationships. Eating in restaurants more often can also impact on physical health. My mental well being is strong as my current personal targets are work/career orientated. This lifestyle may not appeal to everyone but I have found that once I got used to the routine it is not too much trouble.
What is the organisational culture, values and general atmosphere like?

Strong teamwork, direction and values across the whole team. Mostly people re committed and passionate about delivering quality.

Strong - there is a wide mix of backgrounds and cultures present in the business which is great to see
