Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

Helped complete a circuit breaker foundation, bund volume calculation, used AutoCAD/Civils 3D for other design tasks and helped with project admin. Also completed a charity fundraising challenge with a team of interns in my office.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

Yes, I had the responsibility to create my own designs with the guidance of other engineers.

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?

Yes, I have improved my skills with softwares such as AutoCAD, Civils3D, Excel and Tungsten. Also, I have a much better understanding of the design process for the civil elements of a substation.

I had a variety of colleagues who were in the office with me and more who I was comfortable to call anytime on Teams.

Company Culture

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

There was an inclusive atmosphere as there was always events being organised such as quiz nights or golf days. Everyone in the office was a friendly face aswell.
