Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

I was responsible for the day-to-day tracking of all of First Choice's ancillary products - this included reporting for each, tracking changes growth and anomalies, invoicing for each product, maintagining strong relationships with our partners. I also took on competitor analysis aswell as other projects focusing on ancillaries or in ways to help out my wider team.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

Yes I felt that I had a lot of responsibility within the first month specifically owning the invoicing process, working with finance to come up with our targets.

Support and Guidance

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?

I had three different managers across the course of my placement so my support did fluctuate, however I had regular weekly catch ups throughout with the current managers, and my team. Alongside this we were provided with a buddy from month 2, and from month 7 a mentor for additional support as well as the placement team who were there since day 1 to assist.

Company Culture

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

There was a lot of changes across the wider business and in First Choice which I worked in so this could sometimes lead to a more difficult atmosphere, alongside this a lot of people work from home so it could be difficult to improve the general atmosphere. However I felt very included and the teams around me were always supportive and created an amazing culture. We had internal 'nucleis' in which I was a part of the DEI which provided a great place to come together with simlar people and push for further inclusion something I really believe in.

Overall Experience

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?

I really enjoyed my placement I learnt so much which was at times nerve wracking but the support I received made sure that it wasn't too much. Being a part of a role which is involved with so many teams thus so many roles and experiences was amazing plus the support from the overarching placement team organising social events bringing people together.
