Commercial Sales Review

Commercial sales, worked across interiors and clean mobility divisions. Was responsible for costing finished components and would often have to quote for build phases. Work closely with the customer and would often communicate information derived from this to the plant when processing bespoke orders. Had to track late payments and if we had received money in the form of purchase orders. Was very broad and I was able to be exposed to many different responsibilities.

I gained independence throughout the placement to be in charge of different areas of my workload. I was in charge of keeping numerous files up to date and share this information with the customer or the plants. I also had to track other forms of information which reinforced the need for strong organisational skills to make sure everything was achieved.

Exposed to excel so therefore I now understand how mechanisms work and the advantages of using different formulas. In turn has developed by problem solving skills to identify inefficiencies and develop practical solutions to assist with this. Communication skills in terms of presenting information clearly and concisely. Very important to keep teams on the same page.

When required support was always on hand. If I needed assistance with how to approach a task there was always someone in the team who I could get in touch with. This also helped me learn of other colleagues with how to best manage numerous jobs and sharing information clearly which proved beneficial.

It was quiet in the Shirley CBU office. Due to many members home working or travelling there was only a handful of people in the office at any given time. The office was very nice providing you with all the equipment needed to carry out your job efficiently. Was also flexible with days of home working, people very friendly in the office and I liked the work extra hours Monday - Thursday to then have a shortened Friday.

I did enjoy the experience. I learned a lot I like the opportunities to have independence and freedom during my responsibilities which allowed me to really develop my own professional skills of best managing tasks. Also was offered many opportunities, and if I asked for something like more work or a training I thought would be beneficial it was always granted.
