Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

Delivering and picking up corporate cars, Retail and Insurance deals while highly focusing on sales with excess protections.
Contacting customers for replacement vehicles

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

Yes, I have been trusted to drive a lot of expensive vehicles and responsibilities such as planning the day, the most efficient runs for staff to get the day completed

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?

My sales skills have developed much further due to the major focus on this, I am able to drive nearly every vehicle on the fleet from a Corsa to a Luton van.
My communication and customer service skills have come on a lot due to dealing with a variety of customers on a daily basis

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?

During the start I got a lot when I was working in Thornton with help on my development, however since then when I moved branch not as much as I would of liked due to the nature of how busy the branch is and since have fell behind with my development but my fellow trainees have helped a lot

The branch culture was good and made the job a lot easier as everyone got on and could have a laugh which made coming into work a lot better

Overall Experience

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?

I have enjoyed working at the branch with my team as we all have a great relationship with each other and I have developed a lot of new skills which will help me in my career after university however the long hours which we work has affected it while not developing with areas such as captaincies has hindered this due to thinking it would be focused more on developing myself as an trainee management

I would as the culture at the branch is great and their is plenty of opportunities for progression in the future however would let them know the other sides of it with the long hours and the sacrifices you would have to make it
