Intern Review

My role was as an intern. I aided the lawyers on research, printing and scanning, creating legal documents, attending meetings, and taking notes.

I was given a medium level of responsibility as I was entrusted with sensitive information. I was also responsible for getting work done, and reading over legal documents.

I learned many new skills over my internship. I think networking was the main skill I was able to pick up. I also developed an understanding of how a legal office is run and the types of documentation and research skills you need. I was able to develop my research skills as well as my writing skills. I learned how to interact with clients and got better at communication and public speaking. I think administrative skills were also a big aspect of the job - sending emails, managing meetings.

There was so much support and guidance across the whole team. They were extremely welcoming and it was so easy to go to them for any issue or instance where I needed help. They all took the time to answer any question I had and really provided me with a lot of great insight into the legal profession as well as guidance in the type of work I was doing.

The company culture is amazing. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming and really takes the time to get to know you. It is a very warm environment and you quickly feel at home here. They listen to you and help you with any issues you have and are very understanding. Absolutely fantastic company culture. There are a ton of social opportunities to meet people, network, and connect and the wider team will pull you into conversations and try to get to know you. Approaching anyone on the team is so easy because they are all super friendly and open.

I really enjoyed the internship overall. I got to work with an amazing team as well as an amazing cohort of interns. There were so many different pieces of work I was given and I was able to gain a broad range of experience from research tasks to administrative tasks to legal tasks. I got to meet clients and we were able to gain insight into what it was like to receive instruction from them. We also were given insight into every seat in the firm which was super valuable. The socials were really fun and we got to meet so many people. I had a fantastic experience here and I would want to do another internship if I had the chance.
